Installation Notes

Professional installation required. Brake system safety is critical:

1. Raise and secure the vehicle — Safely lift the rear axle and support on jack stands

2. Remove the rear wheels — Remove the rear wheels for access to the brake assembly

3. Remove the brake drum — Carefully remove the rear brake drum

4. Inspect brake shoes and drums — Check brake shoes and drums for wear or damage; replace if necessary

5. Disconnect brake line — Carefully disconnect the brake fluid line from the wheel cylinder

6. Remove the old wheel cylinder — Unbolt and remove the old wheel cylinder from the backing plate

7. Clean the backing plate — Clean the backing plate mounting surface and surrounding area

8. Prepare the new wheel cylinder — Inspect the new cylinder and verify it matches the original

9. Install the new wheel cylinder — Position the new cylinder and secure with mounting bolts

10. Reconnect brake line — Reconnect the brake fluid line to the new wheel cylinder

11. Reinstall brake shoes and drum — Reinstall the brake shoes and drum assembly

12. Reinstall the wheel — Reinstall the rear wheel

13. Bleed the brake system — Bleed the brake system to remove all air from the lines

14. Check brake fluid level — Check and top up brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir

15. Check pedal feel — Test the brake pedal for proper feel and travel
