Installation Notes

Professional mechanic installation is essential for safety:

1. Ensure vehicle is on level ground – Safely raise and support the vehicle if required.

2. Drain brake fluid – Remove old brake fluid from the reservoir using a clean suction tool.

3. Disconnect brake lines – Carefully disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder; cap the lines to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

4. Remove the master cylinder – Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster or firewall.

5. Bench bleed the new master cylinder – Before installation, bench bleed the new cylinder to remove air and prime the internal chambers.

6. Position the new cylinder – Install the new master cylinder on the brake booster/firewall; hand-start mounting bolts.

7. Torque mounting bolts – Tighten bolts to manufacturer torque specifications.

8. Connect brake lines – Reconnect the brake lines to the master cylinder; torque line fittings to specification.

9. Refill with fresh brake fluid – Fill the reservoir with the recommended brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as specified).

10. Bleed the brake system – Bleed all four brake circuits in the correct sequence (typically furthest from the master cylinder first).

11. Check for leaks – Inspect all connections for fluid leaks; ensure the master cylinder is not leaking.

12. Test brake pedal – Pump the brake pedal; ensure firm pedal feel and proper pedal height.
