Installation Notes

Professional mechanic or auto electrician installation recommended:

1. Ensure vehicle is safely raised – Use appropriate jack stands or a lift to access the sensor location.

2. Locate the vehicle speed sensor – Typically mounted on the transmission output shaft housing or rear differential.

3. Disconnect battery – Always disconnect the negative terminal before working on electrical components.

4. Disconnect electrical connector – Carefully unplug the wire harness connector from the old sensor.

5. Remove the old sensor – Unscrew or unbolt the old sensor from its mounting location.

6. Clean the mounting area – Remove dirt, debris, or metal particles from the sensor mounting hole and trigger wheel.

7. Inspect trigger wheel – Check for damaged or missing teeth on the tone ring/trigger wheel.

8. Install new sensor – Thread or bolt the new sensor into position; ensure proper seating.

9. Adjust air gap – If applicable, set the air gap between sensor tip and trigger wheel per specification.

10. Reconnect electrical connector – Plug the wire harness securely into the new sensor; apply dielectric grease.

11. Reconnect battery – Reconnect the negative terminal.

12. Test operation – Start the engine and drive the vehicle; verify speedometer operation and check for trouble codes.

13. Clear codes – Use a diagnostic scanner to clear any related trouble codes.
