Product Description
ISUZU 6WF1 Euro3 Cylinder Liner Kit 1878129280 1-87812928-0 — OEM Fit
ISUZU 6WF1 Euro3 CYZ Cylinder Liner Kit 1878129280 1-87812928-0 — Verified OEM Fit for GIGA CYZ/CXZ/EXZ Diesel Engine
Product Overview
The Cylinder Liner Kit with OEM numbers 1878129280 and 1-87812928-0 is a verified direct-fit replacement for ISUZU 6WF1 / 6WF1-TC / 6WF1-TCC Euro3 diesel engines, commonly installed in ISUZU GIGA CYZ, CXZ, EXZ and related heavy-duty truck chassis. Each kit includes one cylinder liner, one piston, one 4-ring set, one piston pin, and snap rings. It is designed for engine overhaul and cylinder bore restoration.
Working Principle
The cylinder liner is a critical wear component of the diesel engine block. In the 6WF1 engine, it uses a wet liner design: the outer wall contacts engine coolant directly, while the inner bore guides the piston and forms the combustion seal. The liner must withstand peak combustion pressures above 180 bar, transfer heat to the cooling system, and provide a durable sliding surface for the piston rings. The bore is plateau honed to create micro-oil retention, reducing friction and extending piston ring life.
Failure Symptoms
Replace the liner kit when any of these symptoms appear:
  • Excessive oil consumption / blue smoke — worn liner-to-ring clearance allows oil into the combustion chamber.
  • Power loss — poor cylinder sealing causes low compression and weak acceleration.
  • Abnormal knocking noise — heavy metallic knock from idle to mid-speed, sometimes with black smoke.
  • Hard starting or no-start — low compression makes cold starts difficult.
  • Cylinder scoring / scuffing — foreign objects or snapped snap rings can scratch the liner bore.

⚠️ Important Fitment Notes:
  • 6WF1 cylinder liners are classified by inner diameter grade such as 1X, 2X, 3X. Measure the cylinder block seat bore before installation and select the matching liner grade. Incorrect grade can cause abnormal liner protrusion or distortion.
  • After pressing the liner in, measure liner protrusion with a dial indicator. Incorrect protrusion can cause head gasket failure or early liner cracking.
  • For right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles, installation space may be limited. Confirm the specific procedure in the workshop manual.
📌 Fitment Verification: To ensure 100% accurate matching, please provide the VIN or chassis number before ordering. We will verify it through the ISUZU global EPC system.
Features & Benefits
Centrifugal Cast Alloy Iron Liner
Dense grain structure and uniform hardness provide better wear resistance than sand casting — verified by metallographic analysis and Brinell hardness sampling (HB 210–250).
Plateau Honed Bore
Optimized cross-hatch oil retention improves ring seating and oil control, reducing scuffing risk — 100% bore profilometer inspection.
ISO/TS 16949 Quality System
Full traceability with material certificates and inspection reports per batch — third-party certified.
4-Ring Piston Ring Set
Designed for 6WF1 Euro3 combustion characteristics, balancing compression sealing and oil control — verified by bench pressure retention testing.
Direct-Fit Design
No additional boring or honing of the block required, reducing overhaul labor and equipment needs — ≥ 99% installation success based on repair order tracking.
Complete Kit
Liner, piston, rings, pin, and snap rings supplied together to avoid mismatched component risk — assembly dimension chain verified before shipment.

Installation & Maintenance Recommendations
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Cylinder liner installation is an engine overhaul-level operation. It must be performed by a qualified diesel engine technician in a clean workshop. Thoroughly clean the block seat bore before installation to remove carbon, scale, and old sealant.
Installation Guidelines — Reference Workshop Manual
  1. Block Preparation: Clean the block seat bore. Check for scoring, corrosion, or distortion. Measure the seat bore with a cylinder bore gauge and confirm the grade.
  2. Liner Selection: Select the matching liner grade (1X / 2X / 3X, etc.) according to the block seat bore grade. Grades must match.
  3. Liner Installation: Apply dedicated sealant to the O-ring groove and seat contact surface. Use a dedicated pressing tool to push the liner in vertically. Do not hammer.
  4. Protrusion Measurement: After pressing, measure liner protrusion with a dial indicator and ensure it is within the workshop manual specification.
  5. Piston & Ring Assembly: Install piston rings in the correct order and direction. Note the "TOP" mark facing the piston crown. Install the piston pin and snap rings.
  6. Liner Lubrication: Coat the liner bore and piston rings with clean engine oil.
  7. Piston & Rod Installation: Use a ring compressor to install the piston and rod assembly into the liner. Tighten rod bolts in diagonal sequence to the specified torque.
  8. Cylinder Head Installation: Replace with a new head gasket. Tighten the cylinder head in the specified torque sequence, usually from center outward in stages.
Maintenance Schedule
  • Every 10,000 km or 250 hours: Check oil consumption and crankcase blow-by.
  • Every 40,000–50,000 km: Perform compression test. Maximum cylinder-to-cylinder difference should not exceed 10%.
  • Every 200,000–300,000 km or when oil consumption is abnormal: Evaluate liner and piston ring wear; schedule overhaul if needed.
  • During overhaul: Replace all 6 cylinder liner kits together to avoid uneven compression from mixed old and new components.
