Installation Notes

Professional mechanic or suspension specialist installation is strongly recommended:

1. Ensure vehicle is safely raised – Use appropriate jack stands or a lift to support the rear axle and frame.

2. Locate the rear torque rod – Identify the torque rod to be replaced and note its mounting orientation.

3. Remove mounting bolts – Unbolt the torque rod from the rear axle and frame brackets; support the rod as needed.

4. Remove the old torque rod – Carefully remove the old assembly; note the position of any spacers or washers.

5. Inspect mounting brackets – Check axle and frame brackets for cracks, wear, or elongation of bolt holes.

6. Inspect bushings – Check new and existing bushings for proper fit; replace if worn or damaged.

7. Clean mounting surfaces – Remove dirt, rust, and debris from mounting brackets and bolt holes.

8. Install the new torque rod – Position the new assembly between the mounting brackets; align bolt holes.

9. Install mounting bolts – Hand-start all bolts; use new hardware if specified.

10. Torque bolts – Tighten all mounting bolts to manufacturer torque specifications.
