Installation Notes

Professional mechanic or DIY installation recommended:

1. Ensure engine is cool – Never work on the engine when it is hot to avoid burns.

2. Position a drain pan – Place a suitable container beneath the oil filter housing to catch used oil.

3. Remove the filter housing cover – Unbolt or unscrew the housing cover to access the old filter element.

4. Remove the old element – Carefully lift out the old oil filter element; note its orientation.

5. Clean the housing – Wipe the filter housing clean; remove old oil, sludge, and debris.

6. Inspect sealing rings – Check all O-rings and seals; replace if hardened, cracked, or damaged.

7. Install the new element – Position the new oil filter element into the housing in the correct orientation.

8. Replace seals if required – Install new sealing rings or O-rings as specified.

9. Reinstall the housing cover – Tighten the cover to manufacturer torque specifications.

10. Refill with engine oil – Fill with the correct grade and quantity of engine oil.

11. Start and check – Start the engine and allow oil pressure to build; inspect the filter area for leaks.

12. Check oil level – Turn off the engine, wait a few minutes, and check the oil level; top up if necessary.

13. Dispose of old element – Drain and dispose of the old filter element and used oil in accordance with local regulations.
