Installation & Maintenance
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Always cage the spring brake chamber using the caging bolt before removal. Failure to cage the power spring can cause serious injury.
Installation Steps (Reference workshop manual):
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, apply parking brake, chock wheels
  2. Release system air pressure to 0
  3. Fully cage the spring chamber using caging bolt (do not exceed 100 Nm / 74 ft-lbs)
  4. Disconnect air lines and remove mounting bolts
  5. Install new chamber, reconnect air lines, torque mounting bolts to specification
  6. Remove caging bolt, restore air pressure, test brake stroke and seal integrity
Maintenance Schedule
Inspect push rod stroke and air tightness every 50,000 km or 6 months; perform full diaphragm and clamp band inspection every 12 months.
