Installation Notes

Professional installation required. Proper bearing service is critical for safety:

1. Raise and secure the vehicle — Safely lift the front axle and support on jack stands

2. Remove the front wheels — Remove the front wheels, brake calipers, and hub assembly

3. Remove the old outer bearing — Carefully remove the old bearing from the hub using a bearing puller

4. Clean the hub bore — Thoroughly clean the hub bore, removing all old grease and debris

5. Inspect the hub and spindle — Check for scoring, pitting, or wear; repair or replace components as needed

6. Prepare the new bearing — Apply a thin coat of high-quality wheel bearing grease to the bearing

7. Install the new bearing — Press the new bearing into the hub bore using a proper bearing installation tool

8. Reinstall seals — Install new seals and components

9. Pack the hub with grease — Fill the hub cavity with the recommended grease

10. Install the hub assembly — Mount the hub onto the spindle

11. Adjust bearing preload — Tighten the bearing nut to the specified torque and set end-play per service manual

12. Install the locking device — Install the cotter pin or locking tab to secure the bearing nut

13. Reinstall brake components and wheels — Reinstall the brake calipers and wheels

14. Lower the vehicle — Lower the vehicle to the ground

15. Test operation — Test drive the vehicle and check for smooth operation and bearing noise
