Installation Notes

Professional installation required. Proper bearing service is critical for safety:

1. Raise and secure the vehicle — Safely lift the rear axle and support on jack stands

2. Remove the rear wheels — Remove the rear wheels, brake drums, and hub assembly

3. Remove the axle nut — Locate the axle nut at the center of the hub and remove it

4. Remove the hub — Carefully remove the hub from the axle

5. Remove the old outer bearing — Carefully remove the old bearing from the hub using a bearing puller

6. Clean the hub bore — Thoroughly clean the hub bore, removing all old grease and debris

7. Inspect the hub and axle spindle — Check for scoring, pitting, or wear; repair or replace components as needed

8. Prepare the new bearing — Apply a thin coat of high-quality wheel bearing grease to the bearing

9. Install the new bearing — Press the new bearing into the hub bore using a proper bearing installation tool

10. Reinstall seals — Install new seals and components

11. Pack the hub with grease — Fill the hub cavity with the recommended grease

12. Install the hub assembly — Mount the hub onto the axle spindle

13. Install the inner bearing and seal — Install the inner bearing and new oil seal

14. Adjust bearing preload — Tighten the bearing nut to the specified torque and set end-play per service manual

16. Reinstall brake components and wheels — Reinstall the brake drums and wheels

17. Lower the vehicle — Lower the vehicle to the ground
