1. Allow engine to cool - Ensure the engine is completely cool before beginning work

4. Remove the drive belt - Loosen and remove the drive belt from the water pump pulley
5. Remove the fan shroud and fan - Remove the fan and shroud for access to the water pump
6. Remove the old water pump - Unbolt and carefully remove the water pump from the engine block
7. Remove old gasket material - Clean the engine block mounting surface, removing all old gasket material
8. Inspect the cooling system - Check the thermostat, hoses, and radiator for wear or damage
