Installation Notes

Professional installation required. Proper procedure is critical for safety and performance:

1. Disconnect battery — Disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning work.

2. Remove the transmission — Safely remove the transmission and clutch assembly.

3. Remove the old flywheel — Mark the position if required, remove the flywheel mounting bolts.

4. Inspect the crankshaft flange — Check for wear, burrs, or damage to the crankshaft mounting surface.

5. Check the pilot bearing — Inspect and replace the pilot bearing/bushing as needed.

6. Clean the crankshaft — Thoroughly clean the crankshaft flange and bolt holes.

7. Inspect new flywheel — Verify all dimensions and check for damage before installation.

8. Apply thread locker — Apply manufacturer-recommended thread locker to the flywheel bolts.

9. Install new flywheel — Position the new flywheel on the crankshaft flange.

10. Install and torque bolts — Tighten flywheel bolts in a star/crisscross pattern to the specified torque.

11. Check runout — Use a dial indicator to check flywheel face runout (must be within specification).

12. Install new clutch — Install the new clutch disc, pressure plate, and pilot bearing.

13. Reinstall transmission — Reinstall the transmission and all connected components.

14. Check starter engagement — Verify proper starter motor engagement with the ring gear.

15. Reconnect battery — Reconnect the battery and test starter engagement.
