Installation Notes

Professional installation required. This is a critical safety component:

1. Raise and secure the vehicle — Safely raise the front of the vehicle and support on jack stands.

2. Remove the front wheels — Remove both front wheels for access to steering components.

3. Remove the old drag link — Disconnect the drag link from the pitman arm and the steering knuckle/tie rod.

4. Mark or measure settings — Note the position of the old drag link for reference (if applicable).

5. Inspect related components — Check the pitman arm, tie rod ends, and steering knuckle for wear or damage; replace as needed.

6. Clean mounting areas — Clean all connection points and remove any debris.

7. Prepare the new drag link — Install grease fittings and apply grease to the ball joints (if not pre-lubricated).

8. Install the new drag link — Connect the drag link to the pitman arm and the steering knuckle/tie rod arm.

9. Install and torque nuts — Install the taper connection nuts and torque to manufacturer specification.

10. Install cotter pins — Install new cotter pins to secure the nuts.

11. Grease the fittings — Apply the recommended grease to all fittings until grease emerges from the joints.

12. Reinstall wheels — Reinstall both front wheels and torque lug nuts to specification.

13. Lower the vehicle — Lower the vehicle to the ground.

14. Check steering operation — Turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock to check for smooth, free operation.

15. Perform wheel alignment — Professional wheel alignment (toe-in adjustment) is mandatory.

16. Road test — Test drive the vehicle to verify straight-line stability and responsive steering.
