Head Cover Application:

• Cylinder head cover (valve cover) outer mounting position
• Used with mounting bolts/screws to secure the head cover

1. Remove the head cover mounting bolt – Locate the outer head cover bolt position needing replacement
2. Remove the old mounting rubber – Carefully remove the old rubber bushing from the cover or bolt
3. Inspect the mounting condition – Check the head cover, bolt, and mounting hole for damage or wear
4. Clean the mounting area – Remove any old rubber residue, dirt, or oil from the cover surface
5. Prepare the new mounting rubber – Ensure the new bushing is clean and free from damage
6. Install the new rubber – Place the new mounting rubber into the head cover mounting hole (correct orientation)
7. Reinstall the mounting bolt – Insert the bolt through the rubber and thread into the cylinder head
8. Tighten to specification – Torque the mounting bolt to manufacturer specification (do not over-tighten)
9. Check all mounting points – Inspect other head cover mounting rubbers and replace as needed
10. Verify cover seal – Ensure the head cover is properly seated and the gasket is sealing correctly
11. Start the engine – Run the engine and check for oil leaks around the head cover
12. Re-torque if necessary – After a heat cycle, re-check and re-torque head cover bolts as required
