Installation Notes

Installation steps (overview):

1. Disconnect battery negative cable – then disconnect positive cable (if not secured).

2. Raise vehicle (if necessary) – to access starter on engine transmission joint.

3. Disconnect the starter solenoid trigger wire – usually a small push-on terminal.

4. Disconnect the main battery cable – heavy-gauge wire from the starter solenoid terminal.

5. Remove mounting bolts – typically 2 bolts. Note bottom bolt may be longer.

6. Remove the old starter – wiggle and lower from the bell housing.

7. Compare new starter with old – check bolt pattern (105mm flange, 150mm center-to-center), nose cone, pinion teeth (11T).

8. Install new starter – position into bell housing, hand-start bolts, then torque to specification (typically 40-60 Nm).

9. Reconnect main battery cable – tighten securely.

10. Reconnect solenoid trigger wire – push until it clicks.

11. Reconnect battery cables (positive first, then negative).

12. Test start – engine should crank briskly. Listen for unusual noises.

13. Check for leaks – starter doesn‘t contain fluid, but ensure proper seating.
