Installation Notes

Installation steps (overview):

1. Disconnect battery negative cable.

2. Remove air intake piping, heat shields, and exhaust connections to access the turbocharger.

3. Drain engine oil (if replacing oil feed line).

4. Disconnect oil feed and return lines – cap openings to prevent contamination.

5. Remove the old turbocharger from exhaust manifold and downpipe.

6. Clean mounting surfaces and remove old gasket material.

7. Pre-lubricate the new turbocharger – Pour clean engine oil into the oil inlet port while rotating the shaft by hand until oil exits the return port. This step is critical.

8. Install new gaskets and hardware.

9. Install the new turbocharger – finger-tighten bolts, then torque to specification.

10. Reconnect oil feed and return lines with new crush washers or sealing rings.

11. Reconnect exhaust and intake connections – ensure all clamps are snug.

12. Replace engine oil and oil filter (use recommended grade).

13. Replace air filter to prevent debris from entering the new turbo.

14. Refill coolant if coolant lines were disconnected.

15. Start engine and idle for 1-2 minutes to establish oil flow. Do not rev.

16. Check for leaks – inspect oil and exhaust connections.

17. Test drive – verify restored power and no unusual smoke.
