Installation Notes

Installation steps (overview for wet liners – typical for 6HH1):

1. Remove cylinder head, pistons, and old liners from block (use a liner puller).

2. Clean block liner bores – remove rust, old O-ring residue, and debris.

3. Inspect block counterbores – check for damage or corrosion.

4. Install new O-rings onto the new liners (upper and lower seals).

5. Lubricate O-rings and liner outer surface with clean engine oil or soapy water.

6. Press or drop new liners into the block bores – ensure they seat fully against the counterbore.

7. Measure liner protrusion above the block deck using a dial indicator and straight edge. Protrusion should be within OE spec (typically 0.05-0.15mm). Adjust with shims if necessary.

8. Hone the liners to final size (if needed) and to create a cross-hatch pattern.

9. Clean liners thoroughly – remove honing residue.

10. Install new pistons and rings, then cylinder head with new head gasket.

11. Fill coolant and check for leaks.
