- Remove the old U-bolt nuts (may require penetrating oil)
- Remove the old U-bolt. If the spring pack is being removed, support the axle separately

- Position the new U-bolt over the axle, around the leaf spring pack
- Install new nuts and washers, hand-tighten evenly
- Torque nuts to manufacturer specifiion in a cross pattern (typically 200-315 Nm for M14 bolts)
- Re-check torque after 50-100 km of driving
