Installation steps (overview):

3. Install rings onto piston starting with oil ring (expander then rails), then second compression ring, then top ring. Note orientation (markings facing up)
4. Stagger ring gaps around the piston (e.g., 120° apart)
5. Lubricate rings and piston with engine oil
6. Compress rings with a ring compressor and install piston into cylinder
7. Continue engine assembly
